Fall Campout, Dryland Race and Meeting

The event has been completed. The race results can be found here.

Post Event Information:

On Friday, October 27 PSDC members began to converge upon sunny Salmon Hills in Redfield, New York. The day began with trail set up for the weekend and then turned into a fun filled afternoon of tail waggin' training on fantastic trails! As night began to fall the board gathered in the common area and shared food with other present club members before beginning their Fall 2006 session of board meeting. The evening ended fairly early as it began to rain lightly. Unfortunately the rain did not continue to fall lightly, and winds picked up. The night in the yurt was loud and we had no idea what we would awake to. Drowsily as people dropped dogs Saturday morning we came to the realization that the once dry ground was now saturated. We began the races that day with canicross for a closer look at the trail. Unfortunately we found things to be just a bit too wet and muddy. For safety reasons the rest of the events for that day were cancelled. Yet we did have our fall membership meeting as well as our fall speaker. Rob Downey presented an excellent speech on canine nutrition impacts on performance. We followed the meeting and lecture with a wonderful dinner and costume party. The decorations were superb and everyone got to see Rich in spandex, Kevin as a wolf man and Chris as a bottle of beer. The ladies put on their own show; JoLynn and Cassandra were Victorian French ladies of the evening, Nancy was a vampire and Liz's spandex matched her husband's! As everyone turned in we hoped the best for Sunday's weather. Well, we woke to snow, sleet, rain, and hail. Everyone decided to call it a weekend and head home. Unfortunately Claudia did have an accident on her way home due to the poor weather, but she and her fuzzy children are just fine and thanks to Chris, Jess, Reggie, Liz and Rich, safely at home. Although we only got to run one heat of one event we did have fun. Thank you to Erin and Jason for you many hours of hard work, we really appreciate it. We all look forward to our next event at Salmon Hills.
