Event Description:
The fall campout this year will be much different. The Winona State Forest area where we hold a number of the snow races was hit particularly hard by a strong storm earlier this summer. WFRA needs a lot more help getting the trails open. We need as much help from members on these dates as possible. There will be training and dinner but the speaker that is normally included in this event will be skipped in favor of more time to work on the trails. We will also be finishing up the timing shed and cleaning up the PSDC trail material (fencing, signs) in the barn where it is stored.
Reduced trails or no trails may be open for our snow races if we cannot get help to clear these trails.
Important Venue Restrictions:
Gig training only, ATVs are not allowed in the forest on DEC trails.

We will also be cleaning up the PSDC trail material (fencing, signs) in the barn where it is stored.

Christina has blocked off the following rooms at the Portly Angler:
- 5 rooms with 3 bunk beds (will sleep 6 people) = $187.70 per night (or $31.30 per night per person)
- 8 rooms with either a Queen or Double bed and 2 bunk beds (will sleep 6 people) = $172.05 per night (or $28.70 per night per person)
Note from Christina Gates:
People will have to share rooms!! Be friendly with each other!!! The rooms are the full price regardless of the number of people staying in them, so it is less cost per person if we share rooms!! The block on the rooms will be lifted as of September 10th so that the owners can rent the rooms and not be stuck without full occupancy. Therefore after the 10th people will take their chances making reservations. When making reservations people will need to say that they are with the PSDC fall event group, or they will be told that there are no available rooms. I have blocked off ALL of the remaining rooms in the entire place...so if people do not state that they are with the PSDC nothing will show as available!!
Sorry for the delay..I didn't know what a HUGE deal Salmon fishing season is in the area!! Finding ANYTHING available, AND then trying to co-ordinate a place to meet, eat, and stay while in the area was a BIG job!! The Portly Angler is the ONLY place with enough space for everyone, that is dog friendly (including camp sites) for at least ma 20 mile radius...believe it or not. Please act quickly to make reservations I have blocked ALL of the remaining rooms in the entire hotel!! These rooms are reserved currently on MY credit card...therefore the block will be lifted on the 10th of September so that the rooms can be rented if PSDC members have not claimed them...and I do not have to pay for them PERSONALLY.
YOU NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS NOW!!
Find friends and group together in 5-6 people so that the cost per person is less!
Please contact me if clarification is necessary on any of the hotel information...I know it is very different from our usual.
