Event Updates:
February 12, 2009: It has been clarified, to my understanding, that the purebred and sportsman skijor race will be 2.3 miles
February 12, 2009: Nancy Molburg who will be the Trail Boss for the event, has posted here: 2009 Tug Hill Challenge. Please keep an eye on the bulletin board for further updates from her. The schedule of events below is what we had initially planned but it will be changed depending on entries, conditions, etc. Posts from Nancy will contain the best and most current information.
February 11, 2009: There is confusion about the distances and grouping for the skijor class. We are working out the details. At this point I understand that all skijor classes, including sportsman and purebred, are 4.9 miles. We will probably be grouping them with (after) the 3 dog sanctioned skijor in the schedule. I will get a final answer by this evening, please check back for the update on the schedule, including the 8 dog schedule update. Note that we may be changing, the purebred and sportsman skijor may be 2.3 miles.
February 10, 2009: I'd like to clarify that the only skijor class that will be sanctioned at this event will be the 3 dog class. Contrary to what you may have heard, the club made the decision not incur the cost of sanctioning for 1 and 2 dog skijor classes because of the almost complete lack of interest last year. Also note that the schedule is being discussed at this point, we will likely be moving the 8 dog class to earlier in the day. Updates to the page when I get information that a decision has been made. If you're a late entry, it's not too late to register. Please at least call or e-mail as soon as possible with the registrar contact information below to let us know you're coming; it really helps us get everything entered so we can have a smooth start to Saturday.
February 8th, 2009: Added purse information, added limbo class information, added sponsor information and updated schedule information.
January 28th, 2009: Please note that there is forthcoming information on an additional "limbo" class. As I understand, this is a shorter class for four dog teams.
