Event Description:

One day non-sanctioned sprint race, with a number of entertainment/demo events.

Entry Eligibility Restrictions, Limitations and Requirements:

As per the Summer 2006 Board meeting it is a new PSDC policy that all participants of PSDC racing events are required to be current PSDC members. Participants who are not current PSDC member may join during the registration process.

Important Venue Restrictions:

  • As a courtesy to our host, please refrain from the use of alcohol on the property. No open containers will be allowed on the site.
  • No dumping or damage to property.
  • All dogs must be under control at all times.
  • Dog owners must clean up after their dogs in all areas.

There will be a three minute interval between all competing 4 dog teams.

Sanctioning:

There will be no sanctioned classes at this event, but we will adhere to ISDRA speed racing rules for the 4 dog class.

Trail Description:

Figure "8" shaped trail with manned switchgate at one intersection. Two road crossings which will be manned, fenced and supplemented by public safety personnel. No head on passing. No large hills, traverses open fields and wooded logging paths. Sufficiently wide to safely pass.

Purse Payouts and Awards:

There will be a $500 guaranteed purse for this event!

Entry and Event Fees:

Sorry, but we cannot accept foreign currency. All fees must be paid in U.S. dollars.

The entry fee will be used to compensate the snowmobile club who will be providing the trail grooming. There will be no bib fee (please, please, please return your bibs!)

Please note all participants must be current PSDC members. Membership can be sent along with entry form.

Businessmens' Race

The businessmens' race will be a 100 yard, three dog race offered to one representative from each sponsoring company, with cooperation from mushers in lending the team and sled would be appreciated. Please contact Christina Gates if you're willing to help.

Event Rules:

Although the event will not be sanctioned by any body, we will be following the standard ISDRA and PSDC rules.

Food:

Food will be available on site (compliments of Dan Christmas).

Port-a-pots on site.

From the North:

Follow I-81 south to exit 38 (US-11, Sandy Creek). Turn left at US-11 and follow for 8.1 miles. Turn left at Salina St/US-11 to stay on US-11 and follow for 0.3 miles. Turn left at NY State Route 13 and follow for 20.5 miles. Event and start/finish line will be on the left, in the village of Westdale, NY behind the West Camden Country Store.

From the South:

Follow I-81 north to exit 34 (Mexico). Turn right on NY State Route 104, follow for 9.5 miles. Turn right at NY State Route 13, follow for 7.7 miles. Event and start/finish line will be on the left, in the village of Westdale, NY behind the West Camden Country Store.

From the West:

Follow I-90 east to exit 36 (I-81). Follow I-81 north to exit 34 (Mexico), for 26.4 miles. Turn right on NY State Route 104, follow for 9.5 miles. Turn right at NY State Route 13, follow for 7.7 miles. Event and start/finish line will be on the left, in the village of Westdale, NY behind the West Camden Country Store.

From the East:

Follow I-90 west to exit 31 (Utica). Merge very briefly onto North Genessee St. Turn immediately right onto Auert Ave. Follow very briefly to I-790W ramp on right. Merge onto I-790 and then keep left. I-790 continues into NY State Route 49W, follow for 13.7 miles. Take the NY State Route 49W/NY State Route 69W exit into downtown Rome, NY. Merge onto Erie Blvd/NY State Route 26/NY State Route 49/NY State Route 69, and follow for 19 miles. Turn right onto NY State Route 13 in Camden, NY. Follow for 5.1 miles. Event and start/finish line will be on the right, in the village of Westdale, NY behind the West Camden Country Store.
