Event Updates:

December 27, 2009: We are currently experiencing the rain/freezing rain that hit the mid-western states over Christmas. The forecast calls for snow for four days prior to the training event. The base is very solid there (2 feet) and 4-5 inches of snow on top of the ice is all we will need to refresh the trail. If you are the least bit concerned please call Christina Gates (315) 831-2025 prior to leaving for the Gates house and she will happily give you an update. The food fun and frivolity associated with ringing in the New Year will most definitely occur regardless of snow/trail conditions.

Event Hosted By:

This year's session will be hosted by John and Christina Gates again (Thursday, December 31 - Sunday, January 3) at their home in Remsen, New York.

Registration Form:

There is no registration form necessary for this event but, as a courtesy please contact Christina Gates either by phone: (315) 831-2025 or via e-mail: christina@subzerodogs.org to let her know how many there will be in your party and on which day you will arrive and leave. It is requested that you either bring a dish to pass for the dinner on New Years day or contribute $5 per person in your party toward purchase of food.

This Event Will Offer:

Informal training, social event.

Event Description:

This is designed as a fun event for both beginners and seasoned professionals. It is a great time to learn from each other, share tall tales and enjoy the company of friends (old and new) while also enjoying plenty of good food and beverage.

Trail Description:

The trail is a 3 mile loop with optional "spurs" that run off of the main loop. Depending upon conditions one can get up to 7 miles. The loop is usable with or without snow. If there is no snow the trail is wide and sandy (great on feet). If there is snow the trail is not groomed like Lorraine, but rather groomed by a privately owned snowmobile. There are no steep hills or really sharp corners.

Entry and Event Fees:

The only fees for this event will be the donation of $5 per person per meal for the purchase of food.

Sorry, but we cannot accept foreign currency. All fees must be paid in U.S. dollars.

Food:

Chef Christina requests that you bring $5 per person per meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be made on Thursday through Sunday, please bring your own beverages), or in lieu of $5 you may also bring a dish to pass for that meal.
